Chocolate is Always the Perfect Christmas Gift

Okay, so it’s got to that time of year again. It’s time to start thinking about Christmas gift ideas. Luckily, there’s one foolproof option: chocolates. A box of chocolates is perfect for both friend and family – or maybe even to sweeten up your boss.

Some people think that chocolates are a bit tired as a gift idea; but, personally,I find that ridiculous. Chocolates never have – and never will be – boring. Every year seems to produce a host of new flavour-collisions, and every chocolate has a unique taste and texture. You just need to find the one that works for you; and, more importantly, the one that your Gran likes.  

At this time of year, it’s always a good idea to have a box or two standing by; just in case of unexpected guests or to smooth out minor catastrophes. Serve them after Christmas dinner, for example, to help people forget about the over-roasted potatoes.

It must be noted that Roses are low in cocoa-solids (which means more fat) but let’s not dwell too much on that or we might ruin our fond memories of caramel kegs and strawberry dreams.

While American candies might not have much class, they excel in sheer unabashed fun. Customise your own mixed bag of confectionery from across the pond and enjoy all those names you recognise from American TV: Hershey’s Kisses, Butterfingers, Twizzlers… There’s not much that can surpass the novelty of a peanut butter Twix or a bag of coconut M&M’s. Familiar, but peculiar.
