Train My Puppy

Train my Adorable Puppy!

Before you could try and attempt to train a puppy, you need to wait for it to open its eyes and learn to walk. Give its mother five to six weeks to wean it off breast milk, after that stretch of time, have it immunized and you’re set to train your puppy.

Like us in the very first years of our lives, aside from learning to speak, we had to learn how to go to the bathroom. Incidentally this is the first of the many lessons you need to train your puppy for it to be armed with knowledge it knows to grow up. By now you’ve noticed that your dog seems to enjoy eating and relieving itself on your floor – which by now must be already draped in sheets of paper so its remains won’t stick and leave your room smelling like puppy remains forever. Papering involves slowly taking away paper to train it to go have its business on one certain spot of paper.

In the coming weeks, keep a vigilant eye on where it prefers to leave its droppings frequently, this is essential for training it to properly relieve itself. Now remove the sheets except for the area of sheets where it prefers to relieve itself. Do this until you are narrowed down to a single sheet of paper. After it is comfortable emptying its bladder on that piece, slowly move it to one direction in small increments (a few inches at the most) until it learns to leave its remains on the sheet of paper.

Another trick that you should teach your puppy is the simple command of “no” whenever it tries to leave a mess or endanger itself. It is a helpful trick in grooming the puppy’s behavior at a young age. Repeat the word every time your pet misbehaves so it can develop its manners.

It is recommended that when papering, your trained pup must comprehend the thin sheet of paper as its “toilet”. It is also recommended to that in the coming weeks to keep an eye on where it prefers to leave its likes to leave its droppings, by then you would slowly take away the papers until one remains. After it is comfortable emptying its bladder on a single piece of paper, slowly move it to one direction by inching it farther away ever so slowly until it fully understands the concept of relieving itself on a piece of paper.
