Travelling across Canada, From East to West!
I recently went on a holiday to Canada. I know that doesn’t sound technically correct. Well actually yes I did, sort of. I had embarked on a fly drive holiday across Canada starting in Vancouver and driving to Winnipeg. There were three places that we really wanted to make sure we saw. A stop off in Calgary.
So we set off from Vancouver. I had read quite a lot about this place before, but it was very different to how I pictured it. This is a truly unique city, a fantastic place. Surrounded by snow and green trees with little iceberg tops, this scenery is stunning. This city is alive all day and all night, and you can get all the sport fever that you want. What a way to start our Canada tours. As a further note i have arranged for Vancouver holidays for the rest of my staff as well.
Then there is a 450 mile drive to Calgary, we decided to just go for it so we could spend s good amount of time in there. Although we drove through Kamloops, we didn’t have enough time to take a break and have a look around. I was absolutely shattered, we arrived in Calgary and just went to sleep for a while. And talk about good timing, we managed to see the Calgary Stampede. This is a huge event that they hold annually and is often referred to as the Greatest Outdoor Show in the World. Basically it is a collection of Rodeos, Races and a fantastic circus event with one particular event called the wheels of Death. It was amazing, and I would recommend a holiday to here any day.
Then last but not least, the drive to Winnipeg, a joyful six hundred mile drive. This is a dream for any book reader, there is the Millennium Library, you can find out about anything here. Although we did go to the Winnipeg art gallery, this doesn’t mean we are boring, we still went out on a pub crawl with some of the locals. But it was a holiday that we will always remember, one of the best times of my life. Alaska Cruises also do something like the fly drive, only all you have to do is relax.
