Lace wigs can be made from human hair, also called Remy hair, or they can be made from synthetic fibers. One of the biggest differences with the types of wigs is how they are styled. Human hair wigs are easier to style because of how easy human hair is to style, and many stylists train on human hair. Synthetic wigs are a bit tougher to style, but with the right training, it gets easier. Another difference between the two wigs is how long they are going to last. Lace wigs made from synthetic hair don’t last as long as human hair lace wigs.

Styling the different wigs

Styling a synthetic lace wig is harder than styling lace wigs made from human hair because the synthetic fibers aren’t as flexible. When styling wigs with synthetic fibers only certain products can be used on the wig, so labels must be read carefully. Not all synthetic wigs can stand up to heat; so many times curling irons and flat irons cannot be used. To curl synthetic hair steam rollers should be used because they don’t reach the extreme temperatures. As an added bonus, the steam rollers are better to use because it sets the curl better than a curling iron does.

Human hair is a lot easier to style because you can use the same products to style your wig that you would use on your own hair. However, human hair wigs are also more susceptible to damage from over styling, so you need to be careful about what products you are using and how often you are using them. Lace wigs made from human hair can withstand heat, so curling irons and flat irons can be used to curl and style the hair, along with blow dryers.

Talking to the stylist

When talking to the stylist ask them what type of wig, they are used to handling. You will also want to ask them for any clients you can talk to, which the clients should have the same style wig that you do. Doing your research is important so that your wig isn’t destroyed.
