Dark Red

What’s the difference between light and dark red kidney beans?
besides the obvious (color)…Are they made differently? I looked all over the internet and could not find out why they are different colors. I think I prefer the taste of the light red ones. I made chili today and thought that when I was at the store I picked up two cans of the light red but really I picked up one of each and so I used one whole can of the light red and half can of the dark red; what do you think this will taste like?
Dark red kidney beans have a stronger flavor, are “meatier” and have more nutritional value. I think that a mix would taste great.
