Motorola is a company that is known throughout the world for its innovation in communications. It develops technologies, products and services and has made owning a mobile phone entirely possible for almost everyone. Some people might remember that Motorola was actually the first company that entered the field of mobile phones and developed the first official mobile phone, called the DynaTac. This was back in 1983, quite a few years ago but still you might say that the mobile phone is quite a new invention.

From the first mobile phone in 1983 until the early 1990’s mobile phones were simply too large to be placed in the pocket or even carried around. They were mostly installed in cars as car mobile phones and the technology improved to allow the travelling phone to transfer its transmission from tower to tower instead of coming from the originating tower. In the 1990 Motorola released the Motorola Micro TAC on the market. This phone had a much better battery, smaller components which resulted in a much smaller mobile phone. From there one companies like Motorola invested a lot of time on research to make the mobile phones smaller and lighter.

Today Motorola mobile phones have come so far in technology that they are mini computers that will do almost anything a personal computer will do and more. Some are equipped with touch screens and full keyboards. The applications being installed in the mobile phones can help you find your way with the built in GPS, Global Positioning System, to writing emails and text messages with ease. They have games and access to the Internet to find anything you are looking for at your fingertips.

This year, Motorola released several new mobile phones that give a great boost to the communication possibilities in today’s society. One of the phones is MOTO W233 Renew. This mobile phone is the world’s first phone that is made out of the plastic that come from recycling water bottles. The fact that it’s made from recycled plastic might not add to its functions but we can at least say that some progress has been made while we look at our environmental behaviour.

Another mobile phone released by Motorola is the MOTOSURF A3100. This mobile phone comes with a touch screen which can be personalized. Both of these new mobile phones were introduced to the world in January at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas.
